CRIT 93 | Dia/Syn Chronic | Winter 2025

Course Description: (Dia/Syn) Chronic calls for the writer and the reader to question the concept of "chronic" in two different ways. Diachronic is concerned with how something, particularly language and the arts, develops and evolves through time. Synchronic is concerned with something as it exists at one point in time. This challenged the writers to look at the state of the world today and approach how we got here in two different view points. These different points of view come out in visual moments and verbally through each article to create a cohesive periodical about architectural academia today.
